Vagina Film
‘Vagina’ (2022) directed by Celine Pierron
A poetic visual response, commissioned by Nick Knight and Emma Dabiri at SHOWStudio, for the groundbreaking "Bodies of Knowledge" project, which challenges historical representations of the Black body in visual culture. ‘Vagina’ is an exploration of the feminine Creole experience, it articulates the complexity of Caribbean sexuality being both hyper-visual and obscured and affirms Black feminine power.
‘Vagina’ has since been showcased at the People's Pavilion Festival in London, and at Reference Point in collaboration with WMN* in celebration of Women’s History Month. ‘Vagina’ was also exhibited at SOMETHING Art Space in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
